Interactive stations were designed to encourage participation—inviting children to solve challenges, and become their very own super heroes. The narrative connected directly to the heritage of the SS Great Britain, creating a cohesive on-site experience.
Sustainability was integrated throughout the process, ensuring that the bold visual style did not come at the expense of environmental responsibility.

The exhibition and trail successfully captured the imagination of young visitors, with strong engagement across all age groups. The superhero theme made complex engineering concepts accessible and fun, while the sustainable approach ensured the project aligned with the Trust’s environmental goals.
The Superhero Engineers project demonstrates how playful, high-impact design can coexist with sustainable principles. By combining imaginative storytelling with responsible material choices, the SS Great Britain delivered an engaging, educational experience that supports both heritage interpretation and environmental awareness and gained some hugely positive feedback.
